When Manhattanville College’s Graduate School of Education came to Ashworth Creative seeking a redesign of their admissions brochure, we were there to answer the call!

As part of Ashworth Creative’s signature information architecture process, we met with faculty, directors and staff at Manhattanville College’s famous Reid Castle. In addition to touring the beautiful grounds, we learned all the ins and outs of the Graduate School of Education and its marketing goals. While Manhattanville’s castle may be centuries old, its academic program is decidedly cutting-edge.

We designed a concept for Manhattanville’s admissions brochure that was more reflective of education in the 21st century. We moved away from traditional icons such as apples and rulers and replaced them with more of a new media theme. We used Facebook statuses and tweets to illustrate frequently asked questions. We placed an iPad next to a chalkboard to indicate Manhattanville’s contemporary educational practices.   The new concept was much more engaging and interactive than previous versions. The modern design really appealed to a new generation of students.

Our work with Manhattanville College was all encompassing – we managed every detail, from the copy writing to design, down to the photo shoot.  Building upon the new media theme of the admissions brochure, we went on to design a complete package of admissions information.

We designed web banners, postcards, a search piece, an envelope piece, and tri-fold brochures that married the over-arching modern theme of the admissions brochure. With the supplemental print marketing materials all reflective of one another, it created a sense of uniformity among all of the Graduate School’s printed materials.

Our comprehensive redesign helped to continue to brand Manhattanville’s Graduate School of Education as a school with its roots in tradition, but its academics branching to the 21st century and beyond!
