Branding a unique concept: a space for new and evolving families to grow, learn and build community

LAUNCHING A NEW BRAND, IDEA, WEBSITE, AND SIGNAGE IN UNDER 2 MONTHS

By purest serendipity, Jeni Howe, a highly respected and experienced birth doula, approached Ashworth Creative for some urgent help. She had a dream to create a place where care professionals who serve growing families could learn from and share their experiences with one another. She had a premises almost complete, a good name: Baby Botanica, and a clear concept. What was lacking was a visual brand, messaging, signage, a website or any of the materials needed to open, with a launch date set for six weeks away. Ashworth Creative agreed to take the case.

BRINGING A NEW BRAND TO LIFE

Every brand begins somewhere, in the case of Baby Botanica, it began with a visual expression, suggested by the client, the name Baby Botanica and a fern, symbolizing freshness and new life. We hit the ground running and designed a lowercase logo, a luscious, and vibrant fern graphic on a cool grey background to give the brand a strong and recognizable look. At the same time, messaging content was written, and wayfinding signage was developed for the location in Brewster, NY.

PACKAGING A RANGE OF PRODUCTS AIMED AT NEW PARENTS

Part of the Baby Botanica experience is access to healing teas, creams and bath products created by a local herbalist specifically for Baby Botanica. Many are not typically available solutions to new parents such as: Nursing Tea, Nipple Salve, Tonic Tea, Mama Baby Oil, Nourishing body Butter, and Sugar Scrub. Working as the clock ticked, Ashworth Creative designed a bright and original series of labels to impart a clean, healthful and nurturing atmosphere to the new family of products.

MARKETING CO-OP CARE PROFESSIONALS TO A NEWLY CREATED AUDIENCE

One of the differentiating aspects of Baby Botanica is its structure. It is a specially designed bright and beautiful space that welcomes a diverse community of people for classes, treatments, workshops, meetings and events. Baby Botanica Co-operative care professionals provide emotional, physical and educational support. To present these care professionals to their potential audiences, Ashworth wrote and designed an elegant directory of their credentials, class offerings and more.

BUILDING A WEBSITE AND MESSAGING SO THEY WILL COME

As we were creating logos and bios for the directory, we were also creating base messaging to underlay all communications. We wrote the overview of the services and appeal of Baby Botanica. Individual classes and care professionals were added to the site, Google-appropriate SEO headline structures and meta-tagging were completed and the whole site was connected to a third party booking platform. In order to recruit care professionals, the messaging was quickly translated into oversized postcards to convey the concept and attract interest. As promised the website was delivered on time, all signage was completed and hung. Baby Botanica opened its doors and like any baby, it is growing bigger every day.
