Rebranding a specialized law firm to highlight their area of concentration

FINDING THE WORDS TO DESCRIBE THE WAY A LAW FIRM DEFINES ITS WORK

As with all our clients, we want to present the firm as best-in-class and show that they have a strong sense of confidence in their work. For the opening slide show we combined images of a healthy and beautiful environment together with words that state the approach of the firm: Intelligence, Perspective and Creative. The firm is particularly interested in areas where law, science and business coincide and this was communicated clearly and quickly on the home page.

CREATING AN IMAGE OF LEGAL EFFICIENCY IN A FRESH AND EASILY IDENTIFIABLE BRAND.

Howard Davis came to Ashworth Creative for help in building a strong corporate image for their company that reflects their concentration on environmental legal affairs. We assisted them with a rebranding to call the company Davis Environmental Law, creating a memorable logo that can be interpreted to read Davis Is Environmental Law. This logo was animated in the website that we designed for the firm.

ADDING DRAMA TO A CORPORATE IDENTITY

Howard Davis and his designer wife, Randi Davis, had strong opinions about design, color and impact when it came to selecting a logo during the Ashworth logo development process. It is not our style to “sell” a logo to a client but to encourage them to study logo choices, feeling how they respond to them and ensuring that this is something that they can live with for a good long time. In the case of Davis Environmental Law, there were font choices, the underlining of Is in Davis and the use of black as a background color and the result was satisfying to all parties.

TRANSLATING THE BRAND TO A PERSUASIVE AND INFORMATIVE WEBSITE

The key take away that every client wants from their website is, “ They seem like they know their stuff, I can work with them.” For a law firm that focuses on environmental law, it’s important to know that the company is exceptionally well informed on current case law in arenas that range from corporate environmental compliance, environmental class action cases, litigation and insurance cost recovery to name but a few. For Davis Environmental Law, great care was taken to lead the site visitor through an easily navigable drop down menu of practice areas to meet their search criteria.

A GOOD CORPORATE IMAGE REQUIRES GOOD PHOTOGRAPHIC IMAGES

Effective websites are almost always ones that have at least a substantial amount of original photography. Wherever possible, we encourage our clients to add the warmth and humanity of seeing the actual company personnel so that the potential client is not meeting a total stranger at the beginning of an encounter. Ashworth Creative directed original photography for Davis Environmental Law in their offices to communicate a pleasant, friendly and yet professional approach that will meet client expectations.
