Rhinebeck, New York- Oct. 19, 2009- First annual session of the Northeast Independent School Seminar 2009 is hosted by a creative team from Ashworth Creative on October 29, 10am-2pm at Dutchess Day School in Millbrook, NY.
The seminar is created by Ashworth to teach independent schools about the essentials of online marketing and how to build relationships with potential students.
The following is a list of workshops for the day:
Unlocking the secrets of search engine optimization (SEO): Ashworth Creative will help schools understand search engine optimization and how to implement it into the school's traditional marketing campaign. Paid vs. organic? Or, is a hybrid approach necessary? And, how does traditional marketing enhance a Search Engine Plan?
How to implement Facebook, Twitter and YouTube into independent school’s marketing plan: Not all social media sites are the right fit for independent schools Ashworth Creative will educate school representatives how to use social media to reach out to communities of interest and engage them in conversations.
Learn how to use a website to attract and convert visitors: A website with a bunch of information, loaded with industry speak that visitors don’t understand and lacks in interaction will not convert visitors. Ashworth Creative will give tips that help independent schools understand online strategies to turn website visitors into students.

Aysel we are happy to announce, is our new Public Relations Manager here at Ashworth Creative. Aysel graduated from the University of Florida, speaks 3 languages including Azerbaijani (handy) and is getting up to speed with our online branding strategy by commenting on blogs, updating our social networking sites and soon will be writing a PR blog for Flash, Blog, Boom - so keep an eye out for that one. I'm sure she will be lending a hand on any creative projects that involve her stellar writing skills too!
Ashworth Creative has partnered with the Starr Library in Rhinebeck, NY to redesign and develop a spiffy new website. Ashworth is donating the majority of the costs for the rebuild in memory of Margaret M. Currie, a dear friend of the Ashworth family who volunteered at the library for many years. Margaret was born in 1907 and served as a WAC in WWII, upon her return to the states she attended Columbia University completing a Masters degree in Social Work. Margaret settled in Rhinebeck upon her retirement however stayed busy integrating a Freinds program for NY prison inmates and was an avid reader and garderner. "We feel blessed to have known Margaret for 23 years of her 101 year life, we miss her greatly and feel proud that her name be associated with this project". -Eve Ashworth
All members of Ashworth Creative are back in action after taking a short jaunt to California and the Connecticut coast. Bryan spent a week enjoying San Francisco and Los Angeles with his family and friends and the Ashworth's spent time on the beaches of Niantic, Connecticut and Lewes, Delaware. Needless to say we're all relaxed and ready to develop more creative solutions for our clients.
A seminar is in the works for October that is geared toward private schools. Our "Bridge the Gap" workshop will educate private school administrators on how to integrate communication throughout their website, print materials, branding, social media and positioning in order to achieve standard and consistency. Ashworth Creative recently completed the branding and redesign of the Dutchess Day School website. Dutchess Day School is an independent preschool – grade 8 school serving, Dutchess, Ulster, Litchfield and Columbia counties. This project included defining the school’s core message, establishing a tagline, updating the logo and a complete revamp of the website. The staff at Dutchess Day School cannot emphasize enough how delighted they are with the entire project. The new look can be seen here.
Ashworth Creative continues to art direct the landing pages of consumerreports.org. We have contributed to the success of 2 launches directing users to the areas of the site that they wish to visit. Each landing page is designed, coded and delivered to Consumer Reports to upload to their site.
Ashworth will be presenting a workshop at this year’s NYSACAC (New York State Association for College Admission Counseling). Attendees will be introduced to Ashworth Creative’s FLASHBULB™ – a practical approach developed from helping companies extend beyond traditional marketing into social networks, blogging, podcasting, Web video, SEO and RSS.
A home away from home for 2100 students in Purchase, NY hired Ashworth Creative to research and develop their search piece and College Viewbook. The search piece hit mailboxes of potential Students in February and requests for viewbooks are flooding in fast and furious.
Recognition is really nice. Needless to say, we were thrilled to hear that GTI received 2 awards from the IAPHC International Gallery Awards. Gold for the PDV brochure and Silver for the Full-Line brochure both designed and edited by Ashworth Creative.
Recently, Ashworth Creative partnered with Rehab Programs to develop the non-profit organization’s brand and website. Rehab Programs, an 11 location organization in Dutchess County, serves people with disabilities of all age groups. The organization is a community of teachers, social workers and people motivated by being part of something important and bigger than themselves.
Ashworth has partnered with DRA Imaging to develop and design a new patient centered website. “At DRA, we have always taken patient care very seriously, talking and listening to our patients and taking their views on board. Over the last few weeks, we have conducted a series of research programs and the results will influence the new website design and content.” – Susan Peterkin, Marketing Director, DRA Imaging.
Ashworth has partnered with Dutchess Day School to respond to a recent market analysis report. “The Ashworth team is proud and excited to work with such a prominent organization within our local community” says Chase Evans, project Manager at Ashworth Creative. Ashworth will be developing a branding document, unifying all marketing materials and re designing a website enhancing, teacher, parent and student communication.
In August, Ashworth welcomed Bryan Welfel to their growing team. He is a senior at Marist College and is the co-founder of egoboxes.com. His passions include: information systems design, finding new opportunities for businesses, and creating solutions for customers that they never knew they needed but once they have, they cannot live without. Bryan is very involved with the web development community, having associates from New York all the way to India. He is looking forward to his projects with Ashworth and hopefully a great ski season as well.
Isaac and Eve recently returned from their annual trip to England – “Each year, as the boys get a little older, we are able to do more educational trips – some of which are to historical houses educating the family on the traditions of British culture”, said Eve. Chatsworth House was a particular favorite for its modern contemporary sculpture that is on display in the beautiful Chatsworth gardens until November 2, 2008. Ashworth has welcomed Cody Schatzle to their team, the now-youngest member. Cody brings his clever design skills and web knowledge to the table. He’s a full-time student at SUNY New Paltz (working on his Thesis, soon to get his BFA) and also works two jobs, including Ashworth, a total of over 60 hours per week. How lazy.
“Design is my weapon of choice. I am here to destroy everything.”, says Cody of his work.
Interior designer Selina van der Geest, “an oudoorsy Briton with impeccable taste,” states Elle Décor in their article about the house Selina decorated for Frederic Fekkai, hired Ashworth Creative to redesign a website to showcase her projects and original steel furniture. Selina had projects published in Elle Décor in June and July, so well organized press articles that were readable on the web was a priority. The result: A clean, simple, and organized site that receives rave reviews from home as well as across the pond.
As you know from the symbol displayed on our homepage, we are proud members of AIGA, the professional association for design. This year, Ashworth Creative attended a design conference at the Times Center in New York City where some of the nations most recognized graphic Designers and Project Managers presented. “The whole team came together to learn new techniques and strategies to better our quality of service to our unique client base” said Isaac.
We completed our office move from Salt Point, NY to Rhinebeck, NY. Our move started in January and for a few months both locations were utilized to make the transition easy, but now the whole Ashworth Creative team works out of the Rhinebeck location. The new studio is located up on a hill with beautiful views of nature and big windows for all to be inspired. We are also enjoying our new bigger conference room and the ability to accommodate more employees as we keep growing. All are welcome to stop by.
Ashworth Creative of Rhinebeck, NY announced today that they have begun working with Page Park Associates, of Poughkeepsie, NY. Ashworth will look to sharpen the image of Page through a redesign of their logo and creation of a website
The work has already started with a new logo design, which will allow Page to raise their profile.
Page Park Associates are a commercial real estate development company, currently leasing over 500,000 square feet of space to government, not-for-profits, and medical and banking operations. They acquire and develop quality properties in an effort to create innovative solutions for the mutual benefit of their clients and investors.
Ashworth Creative recently won a bid to redesign and develop the DRA Imaging website. DRA Imaging is the leading diagnostic imaging group in the Hudson Valley. DRA has three independent office sites as well as 18 physicians, 4 physician assistants and over 130 support staff members. The growth and success of their outpatient services has enabled DRA to acquire the most advanced diagnostic imaging tools available in the region.
We have begun working with the Best Company Ever, Inc. Yes that is their name but you can call them Best for short. Best is a creative utility company that specializes in production and live action directing along with all of the trimmings. They create and fully execute content for commercial broadcast and web campaigns. Ashworth Creative looks forward to many future collaborative projects.
GTI Graphic Technology, Inc (GTI) of Newburgh, NY is Ashworth Creative’s newest client. Ashworth will sharpen the image of GTI through a marketing assessment, and the redesign of their logo. GTI develops and manufactures color-appraisal viewing systems (commonly known as light boxes) that match international standards, enabling precision communication and the accurate and faithful reproduction of colors. GTI has been located in Newburgh, NY for 32 years. They send their products worldwide; working with well over 300 dealers and distributors.
Ashworth creative will be involved with designing, printing, and mailing the Dental School’s Alumni Reunion materials for 2008. Through the use of strong design and well thought out goals, all parties plan on this project being successful. Columbia University is one of the top academic and research institutions in the world, conducting pathbreaking research in medicine, science, the arts, and the humanities. It includes three undergraduate schools, thirteen graduate and professional schools, and a school of continuing education.
We have begun working with JMC Marketing Communications & PR of Kingston, NY. One of JMC specialties is business-to-business communications. They also have the ability to provide international services through its 32 affiliates in 50 offices worldwide. Ashworth Creative looks forward to the completion of its first joint project together, a targeted business to business tradeshow brochure, due to be finished in January 08.
